Become a Stroke Judge! Every shift earns a minimum of 2 points through out the season including 2 points during training day on May 5th! Stroke Judges evaluate the swimmers in the water during their races to ensure they are swimming the event "legally." No previous swimming experience necessary, just be an observant person. *

Parent Code of Conduct

The Rocky Mountain Swim League (RMSL) expects all swim parents to abide by the following Code of Conduct.

At all RMSL meets, parents should:

1. Display the characteristics referred to in the RMSL Bylaws–courtesy, good will and sportsmanship.

2. Demonstrate good sportsmanship by conducting yourself in a manner that earns the respect of your child, other swimmers, coaches, officials and other parents.

3.Support the swimmers, coaches, officials and other parents with positive communication and actions.

4. Show respect for the meet facilities and follow the rules of the pool to which you have been invited.

5. Maintain self control at all times. Allow swimmers to swim, coaches to coach, officials to officiate and parents to parent.

6. Respect the meet officials and their authority even if you don’t agree with a decision. As stated in the RMSL Bylaws, protests may only be made by a team parent representative to the Referee.

7. Understand that criticizing, name calling, use of abusive language or gestures directed toward an official, coach, participating swimmer or other parent will not be permitted or tolerated.

8. Understand that such behavior may result in being asked to leave the pool for the duration of the meet, and that repeat violations may result in a multiple meet or full season suspension.

Finally, at all meets parents should enjoy the wonderful spirit and tradition that is the Rocky Mountain Swim League.

RMSL CONSENT, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT

I, the undersigned parent/guardian of the above swimmer(s) (“Swimmer”), in consideration of permission granted Swimmer by the ________________ Swim Team (“Swim Team”) to participate during the 2024 RMSL swim season, hereby give my consent and permission for Swimmer to participate in and attend all Swim Team and Rocky Mountain Swim League (“League”) activities (collectively, “Activities”).

I understand that participation in the Activities is voluntary and that swimming pools are inherently dangerous and pose a risk of bodily injury or death.

I understand the Swimmer would not be allowed to participate in the Activities, but for my execution of this Consent, Release and Indemnification Agreement.

On my behalf, and on behalf of Swimmer, our respective successor and assigns, I hereby waive and release, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Swim Team and League, their respective, agents, officers, board members, employees, homeowners, volunteers, parent representatives, coaches, officials, swimmers and all others involved in the Activities (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from:

  • any claim, cause of action or demand arising out of, or relating to, directly or indirectly, any personal or bodily injury, death or property damage which the Swimmer sustains while participating in the Activities, and agree to indemnify, save and hold the Released Parties harmless from any claim, demand or cause of action of whatever nature or kind whether asserted by, or on behalf of, Swimmer.
  • any claim, cause of action or demand arising out of, or relating to, directly or indirectly, Swimmer contracting the novel coronavirus (“COVID-19”) or any other illness while participating in the Activities and agree to indemnify, save and hold the Released Parties harmless from any claim, demand or cause of action of whatever nature or kind whether asserted by, or on behalf of, Swimmer for any personal or bodily injury or death resulting from COVID-19 or any other illness.

I understand and acknowledge the hazards of COVID-19. I understand the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) guidelines regarding COVID-19. I acknowledge that the circumstances regarding COVID-19 are changing from day-to-day and that the CDC guidelines are regularly modified and updated. Accordingly, I accept sole responsibility for familiarizing Swimmer with the most recent updates to the CDC guidelines.

All agreements herein are severable, and should any provision be found unenforceable for any reason, all remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. This agreement will be governed by Colorado law.
